  • Rights Respecting

At St Ives, children's rights are at the heart of everything we do. We are proud to be a Rights Respecting School, where pupils learn about their rights, understand the importance of respecting the rights of others, and are encouraged to become responsible, active citizens.

Each year, pupils elect representatives to our School Council. These pupils act as the voice of their peers, gathering ideas and suggestions from across the school and working together to make positive changes that benefit our school community.

To help embed children's rights in everyday school life, they are explored through assemblies, classroom learning, discussions and whole-school activities, helping children to understand how rights relate to their lives and the world around them.

By promoting the values of respect, dignity, fairness and inclusion, we empower our pupils to make a positive difference both within school and beyond.
